Hello 3-D-ARTists!
Our friend is looking for collaborators for an upcoming project, below are the details
______________________________________________________
Hi, dA! Brendan Jones here, creator of the webcomic "Breakfast of the Gods" and current co-writer of Arne Cooper's webcomic "The Androssian Prophecy," and I'm looking for an artistic collaborator on a wholly new project. That project is called "Operation: RETCON."
THE PITCH: Through a fluke government experiment (love those!), an obscure, cheesy comic book superhero of the '50s has been made flesh and blood reality. Captain V's attempts to acclimate himself with our world and the government's attempts to use him as a secret weapon make for a lighthearted romp with occasional bouts of graphic sex and violence.
THE CONCEPT: A deconstruction of Golden/Silver Age comics tropes told through the lens of a pay cable "dramedy." Captain V's "girlfriend" is his CIA handler, who's also a lesbian. His "best pal" is a 19 year-old janitor/club DJ with a stripper girlfriend. In the early going, his greatest challenges in adjusting to our very real Reality are discovering that his "power punch" will actually pulp a human body and that he now has a penis. This is definitely a "Mature Readers" comic.
THE ARTIST?: Ideally, I can find a talented 3D artist (like my buddy Arne a.k.a. Bad-Dragon here on dA) with a desire to hone their narrative chops. Someone who can make a movie on the page, who can sell both the big action pieces as well as the "people in a room talking" scenes. Someone who can make their models act. And, as long as I'm at it, someone who can make convincing looking men's suits (man, what's with the "doll's clothes" look of most Poser/Daz outfits for guys?).
Does this sound like you?
I'm also not opposed to finding a 2D artist capable of illustrating in a hyper-realistic style. The idea being to contrast the flat, simplified "world" of Captain V's previous Reality (Golden Age comics) with our own. But I'm still leaning towards seeing what 3D comics artists can do. I really think there's so much potential there.
THE FORMAT: Though this is designed as an eventual print release (and is therefor structured like a typical 22 page-per-issue comic), I would still like to follow the general post-a-page-a-week schedule of any other webcomic. Thanks to working on "The Androssian Prophecy," I realize how much pre- and post work has to go into every rendered frame of a 3D comic, so this project would obviously require a long lead time before it went public.
In addition to each issue's 22 rendered pages, I would produce (write and draw/ink/color/letter) an 8 page back-up from the "vintage" adventures of Captain V from the 1950s run of "Valor Comics."
THE PAY: Well, there isn't any. Yet. I'm hoping, as with all webcomics, that it would become a commercial enterprise down the road after it finds an audience. Trust me, I'd like to make money off my work and I would share 50/50 with my artist.
SO: There you have it. The script of issue 1 is there in my gallery as a downloadable .pdf. Give it a read and drop me a line if you'd like to join me in this project.

While we wait....
Hello Members,
It has been a couple of weeks since my last journal, I wanted to keep you updated because I think is just fair to do it. I recently found out I have limited access to settings in the group so I have to contact the group owner for review, while this is done I will try my best to come here weekly and continue with the submission process.
I found also a group of users who are willing to take upon the task to moderate and administer this group however I will not reveal names until I can for sure know I can add moderators to this group.
in the meantime stay tuned as some changes are coming in order to keep this community alive.
New Admins needed
Hello members,
first of all my apologies for us keeping quiet for a long time, I have personally sort of moved on from DeviantArt as I'm a full time father and husband now so my time is very limited, a while back I proposed a to get new members to this group but it seems the other moderators are also busy, so if you have the time and you would like become a moderator for this group send me a private message and I will discuss this with JackRed and any other moderator who is available.
I would hate to see this group vanish, we all enjoy 3D art and we hope we can pass the torch to other members who can invest their time here and make this com
Hello!
Hello 3-D-ART Members!
It's been a while since the last time i wrote something in the journal, how's everybody doing?, Let's get to the main point which i understand it has caused a lot of issues to our members and artist, and no, im not talking about the lack of blog entries.....(somebody asked me about that too), im talking about the expired submissions. Let me begin first by apologizing to our members who have left our group or are currently getting their deviations expired or experiencing this issue.
With expired submissions and complaints from our member i have come to the decision to open admin positions for our group. i believe it is
A 3D Chat for Everyone!
Several individuals and 3D groups here on DeviantArt have tried to launch their own chats, which have met with various degrees of success, staying active for a while then dying.
:thumb161989784:
Currently, there really aren't any active chatroom where you can discuss and get help on 3D work.
That's why The 3D Chat has been created.
This chatroom doesn't advertise any specific groups, and will hopefully become a hub for all 3D artists, and use members from many different groups to administrate and keep it active.
Loaded up the top are various useful articles, tutorials and resources so that you can still get help and inspiration even when
